You may WELL be right, but remember one key factor:
The original poster has been running a pH of 7.0-7.2--EXACTLY the pH we recommend for the aeration to raise pH.
If we get him to 7.5 (for example), the aeration out-gassing should be aborted, shouldn't it?
If however, it still continues when it's that high, then, of course, the alternative of the lower T/A may well be appropriate.
