    Default ? for Poolsean

I just recieved my PoolPilot Digital. It dosen't say anything about mounting outside. Can it be mounted to an outside wall or does it need to be protected from the elements? Can I mount it on an outside wall unprotected or should I mount it inside an electrical type box? Does it make noise?

I have mine mounted on a post next to the filter. I only cover it during the winter. I believe Sean has stated awhile ago you can mount almost anyplace. It really dosen't make any noise, just a small fan.

Dave is correct. Just be cautious that it's not in a location where sprinkler heads will hit it directly.
The fan should only come on whenever the cell is energized, which should cycle on and off throughout the day. You shouldn't be able to hear it though, as your filter pump will make more noise than the Pool Pilot.

And thanks for choosing Pool Pilot.

Thanks guys! The reason the noise was an issue is that I contemplated putting it in my bedroom just opposite my outdoor equiptment. I just need to figure out a way to cover it while its mounted to a brick wall. Maybe Sean can invent an outdoor enclosure and sell it to AutoPilot.

    nice.
it really doesn't make much noise, but it you want me to "invent" an outdoor enclosure, I can. I don't think I'll get rich over it though.
    I was thinking maybe.... poolsean.com
won't get rich on that either.

I built a nice box with a hinged front cover that fits nicely and looks really great. Not totally weatherproof but will shield the unit from rain, hail etc.
