    Default Polaris and leaves

I have Oak trees on both ends of my pool area, and would love a pool cleaner. I am looking at the Polaris 380. At times I have Acorns (1/2 inch dia), and then oak leaves (abt 1"x2"). I know it will be a twice a day chore, to clean the leaf bag, but I am wondering if the Polaris is capable, or is there a better option..

I live in Fla, so it is not the big leaves and acorns like we had in Oregon..

    Thanks
    Les

We have lots of leaves and a Polaris 280 on our 13k gallon pool and it does a great job of getting the leaves.

We also have two large oak trees on either end of the pool and for some reason we have had a HUGE acorn crop her in Texas this year...I would guess at least 500 acorns a day are falling in and around the pool. We have the Pentair Ledgend (Similar to the Polaris) and it has been great in keeping up with the leaves and the acorns. Of course I have to empty the bag about 2 times a day but so far the only place i have to get the net out for is the steps. I would highly reccomend a cleaner.

Thanks, I'll add it to the Xmas list. The pool is plumbed for one, so it should be an easy add.

I have a Pentair Legend and it works very well picking up leaves and everything else. It even climbs the walls and sweeps my bench-step at the shallow end. However, it repeatedly vacuumed up the little "scrubbing collar" from the end of its own tail until that was ruined. Also, after about a year I had to replace the bag under warranty because the velcro deteriorated and the sweeper was just blowing everything out of the top of the bag. Very powerful.

I have the Polaris 380, and it is perfectly capable of handling oak leaves and acorns. I have a koi pond next to my pool, and occasionally the kids or the dog will kick pieces of the pea gravel into the pool, and the Polaris gets those, too. Might have to clean the bag out a couple of times daily depending on how many leaves, but it will handle the job.
