Default make your own solar cover reel?

I recall someone on the older forums that had made their own solar cover reel.

I have a cheep reel now (horizons HV-10) that uses plastic needle bearings, which are awful at best...the manufacturer does not recommend any type of lubricant, so after 4 years this thing is a bear to roll up. I even replaced both bearings last year, but it made little difference.

I'm thinking of using the center tube from mine and then making new ends...any suggestions?

Do a search for posts by Matt4x4 and Huskerfan. They both have great reel set ups. One for deck setup and with without. We are going with the one Matt4x4 did.
