CanuckPool is correct...a flatter, less textured pattern (such as we have) will get slippery.
We have a large stone pattern, each "stone" is maybe 18x12 with not too much texture. It is a lighter color than the brick coping and does not get nearly as hot as the brick. Still, when the air temps are upper 90's to low 100's, I would not walk on either the dry coping or deck without foot protection.
The concrete was sealed with Deck-O-Seal and may have had a Rhino Grip type product mixed in with it. The end result is pretty but definitely "Slippery when Wet!"
