    Default Texas Pool Timers

Ok, not just Texas, but maybe more the areas where the weather is still above 90 and water is at or above 82 degrees (love it) and still swimming. I am wonder how many hours I should set my manual timer to.

Right now its set to come on at 8AM and turn off by 5:30PM.

    Should I make any changes.??

    Thanks

    Hey Pool Mike,

I am in the same situation. I am running my pump right now from 10am to 5pm at 60-70% on my SWG. I have plenty of chlorine. In fact, I need to turn down the %. 7 hours a day should do fine as long as the chemicals are balanced. In the winter, when pool temp is 50s and below, I only run the pump 4-5 hours a day at about 10-15%.

    Hope this helps,
    Mike

I run mine from 10am-6pm. That's what the pool startup company had it set for. When we first filled it with water, it ran 24/7 for 2 weeks. Can't wait to get that electric bill!

I am on a peak/off peak electrical plan so I run mine at night when it's much cheaper. Current setting is 7 hour run at 45% on the SWCG. I'll adjust down as the temps drop.. If the temps ever drop that is
14'x31' kidney 21K gal IG plaster pool; SWCG (Saline Generating System's SGS Breeze); Pentair FNS Plus 48 DE DE filter; Whisperflow 1 HP pump; 8 hours hrs; kit purchased from Ben; utility water; summer: none; winter: none; PF:5.7
