need a easy answer???

Was just looking for a leaf net @the pool store, thought i test the pool people, about switching over from baq to chorline, they said i needed to put something called shock and swim (monopersufate???) that would get the baq out, he said if i put shock in it will turn orange and brown. not switching till may need a easy answer do i or dont i.

To convert to chlorine, just add bleach. Yes, your pool will initially turn all sorts of funky colors - greens instead of orange. But, after a few days, it will clear right up. Go and read through a lot of the old posts in the baq forum and you'll find step by step directions as well as a lot of success stories.

thanks for the reply just ran out to vac up some more leaves, i understand but what is that stuff he's trying to sell me

That stuff he's trying to sell you is non-chlorine shock. You don't need it, if you're trying to convert to chlorine, then skip the non-chlorine stuff and use chlorine...bleach, like Watermom suggested.
