I just came across this step by step illustrated pool closing procedure wich seems to be well made and instructive. It comes from a canadian website. Maybe some of you out there can benefit from this illustrated explanation and/or comment on any flaws it may contain.

One mistake that I noticed was on step #6 where it says to move the control valve lever to FILTER without cutting the power to the pump. As far as I know, that is a major no-no with rotary control valves. My Hayward filter says to NEVER move the lever without turning the pump off first.
If I am wrong, correct me.
I noticed that too, but they even went ahead and underlined the word "without" so maybe its ok if you have this particular model.
