    Default Pool Water

Well, I got my new Dougboy this spring and almost immediately the liner had a leak. Finally talked the pool store into accepting responsibility for the bad liner and got them to agree to replace it at the end of the swim season. They replaced it today and trucked in the water. This is the same water company that filled the pool in the spring. Only this time, I'm pretty sure they used creek water rather than city water. I noticed after they left that the water didn't look "quite right". It looks a little brownish. I tested for any signs of chlorine and there was none. Plus the pH was 7.6. Should I be concerned about the origin of this water and insist that it be replaced or should I just bleach it and let it go? I have a small child and wonder what other chemicals, like from farmland runoff, might be in there that bleach wouldn't kill. It's not enough that I got the messed up liner right from the start, to add insult to injury, I feel like their hooking me on the water.

It would seem quite a bit more difficult to obtain water from a pond rather than a pipe. (unless you have a permanent setup).

Secondly, it would seem a stretch that someone would go to that trouble to save a 100 or so bucks.

Why not simply express your concern to the water company and they may have some advice for clearing the water? In the South, if you filled from a creek or pond, your pool would look pretty close to Lipton's tea or, perhaps, second hand water from a broken commode.
