Default Oil slick looking surface inside skimmer

I have noticed what looks sort of like a oil slick looking portion in the water inside the skimmer when the pump is running and the pool is still otherwise. I was wondering what it might be.....suntan lotion? Water is clear otherwise.

It's probably just sunscreen or suntan lotion. You can get a special sponge or a "scumbug" if you want to absorb and dispose of it.

I found if you just use some papertowel and dip it into the offending oil slick and pull it out it gets 90% of it. Beats buying those $10 sponges. I guess it works best if its localized to the skimmer.
