We will be closing the pool this weekend. Do most people use a pillow under the cover? If so, what size and how many do we need? We have a 27' above ground pool.

for our 30 footer we used a 4.5 x 15 pillow. Personal preference unless you live in a very cold climate where there will be a great chance of a sheet of ice forming on the top layer. The pillow keeps it from freezing as a solid sheet, dropping and slicing your liner. Slim chance, but it does also help you keep all the water off the top of the cover w/ a cover saver pump...instead of it all pooling towards the center where you can not reach it.
their so inexpensive but some people say that they deflate through the winter. Surely they won't all the way though.
good luck on you decision

We aren't using one, but we have a micromesh cover so there won't be any water pooling on the top to pump off.
Beats driving to the lake!
