    Default Winterizing / Light

I have a sta-rite sunstar light in my above ground pool. I read that you should lower the water level to below the light? My problem is that the installer installed the light about 9 - 12" below my skimmer (directly below it). I would have to drain more than 1/2 the pool to get below the light. Is this something I should worry about?

looking at the slim profile of this light, I really don't think there's much to worry about, my aqualum case sticks out more than that and doesn't get wrecked by ice etc, and we get some REALLY cold weather!
