Pool Fencing

Can anyone give us some input on fencing for our pool. We need 125' of fencing with a height of 5' to enclose our pool and keep the pet out, local contractor (Yuma Arizona) want an arm and leg so we are going the DIY way. Any one know a cheaper route, we would like a sand wrought Iron Fence to match what we have chosen for the pool.

I think wrought iron is very pretty, but it is so expensive; perhaps someone here knows deal on that...
I'm guessing this is for an I/G pool...

a cheaper alternitive is pool safety fence.
you can get black mesh with tan border & tan poles ( to match)

I have three pre-school kids, I ended up buying chain link fencing because it ended up that cross-border duty ( & shipping) was going to cost me almost the same amount as the chainlink

Our county planning office approved a plastic mesh deer fence for around our pool. We wanted a fence that wouldn't be noticeable in the woods around our pool. We installed it ourselves. Many places offer it, but we got ours from Benner's Gardens. If interested, make sure you get an appointment with a code official and follow up to get written approval before installation. I'll send you the letter we wrote if it would help. Jo

Be careful with wrought iron fence....it will rust in about a year or two. We went with a galvanized fence that is warrentied for life not to rust....It was a but more expensive but worth it....good luck

Even better than galvanized fencing is some of the aluminum fencing out there. Delguard(spelling) makes a line of fencing that looks close to wrought iron but has none of the rusting problems. my fence is 5 years old and looks like the day I bought it. Installation can take some time but you do save a fortune.

Be careful with wrought iron fence....it will rust in about a year or two.

I agree with Mark, we also used the aluminum fence and are very happy with it. It is lighter and easier to handle than wrought iron and is pretty easy for a decent DIYer to put up.

We want to install fencing partially around the yard (boys 7 & 9) We are to put up split rail fencing with a pool mesh stapled to it. The mesh will be black and hopefully invisible. We are to install it ourselves and it will be over 500 LF. Sections of the fence are about $35 ea. I'm looking to install a couple of double gates to facilitate machines getting in and out of the area - I have a bad shoulder..

We are in horse country and we want the fence to blend in.

If he has sprinklers in his backyard near the pool fence it will rust, it dont matter where he lives.....I live in Arizona too and we do get rain...not often but it does happen..
