    Default Algaecide

How much algaecide should I add to 18,000 galon IG vinyl for winter? I live in Harford County, Maryland.

    Thanks, Marty

    Thanks Dave,

I didn,t know if more would be better or if it would have any negative effects on the rest of the water chemistry.

Gotcha' now. I personally don't use it but those that do seem to indicate it's fine to overdose a little. Others better informed will give you a more accurate opinion.

Just make sure you are using polyquat algaecide.

I think the standard for the Polyquat 60s was 9oz (initial treatments) -16oz (visible algae) per 10k of water - I put in 32oz today to prep for closing (the size of one bottle)
