    Default Goldline/Aqualogic SWG question

I have an aqualogic SWG with the goldline remote. Is the SWG working all the time when the pump is runing? Under the timers menu is a category called "Cleaner - All". Does this have to be set to initiate the cleaning process? I've noticed when it is on the sheer descents turn on. I've got the SWG set to 55% but the chlorine levels have been a little low. around 1.0. Salt is at 3500 PPM. I think that's a little high, but the check system light does not come on.

No. It will be based on the % setting you choose with a 120 minute cycle. So if it is set to 50%, it will be on for the first hour off the second and repeating.

It should, depending on how it was set up. You usually set relays for manual or timed operation.

I've noticed when it is on the sheer descents turn on.

It could be that the display label is wrong. Labels are set up in the config menu.

How big is your pool? What is your CYA level? How long is your pump run time? All of these will affect the chlorine level.

Ok - so this cleaner all function. If the cell is set to 50% then it should be on for an hour and off an hour. Is the clean all supposed to override that setting. I think somethings wrong with the labeling due to my sheer descents turning on.

Pool is 18K gallons, getting a CYA test kit today. pump runs from 9AM to 5PM.

The cleaner is independent of the cell so that setting will not matter to the cell at all. However, the cell is tied to the filter pump and that is the only setting that really matters as well as the %. If the filter pump is on, the cell will go on for the first part of the cycle.

With 18,000 gallons, 50% setting and 8 hrs run time, you will be adding about 1.7 ppm per day which should be OK depending on you CYA. Check it after a day or two and see how it goes.

Thanks Nas. It's been running like that for a couple of weeks. I need that CYA reading. Outside of the solar, our pools look to have similar equipment.

Are you thinking the cleaner is for the navigator that cleans the bottom of the pool?

Probably. Usually for suction side cleaners, a valve is turned such that suction increases for the cleaner port on the side of the pool, assuming you have one.
