True story: My wife and I were walking on the beach one time, and I managed to get stung by a jellyfish fragment carried by the receding surf. It really hurt so I told my wife to get into the car and I'd find a place to try the pee trick, as per urban legend.
Urine is supposed to lessen the pain of jelly fish stings, so I walked up behind a vacant house that was for sale on the beach, and started trying to pee on the red spot. It was on the back of my leg, so I had to lean on the house with one arm, and try to twist around to hit the sore spot with the other.
Of course, right then a real estate agent and his unwitting homebuyer walked right out onto the deck next to me, and I was so flustered, I hit the shoe of the homebuyer instead of my leg.
I also hit the wall, the deck, and lastly, my leg. The image of the RE agent is forever seared into my memory as he recoiled in horror.
Guess what? Urine doesn't do a **** thing for jelly fish sting!
But I tried to explain and apologized to the RE agent and tried to offer my towel for the lady's badly-urined shoe.
I asked her if she was alright. She said, "well, my leg doesn't sting."
