Usually means that the chlorine is very, very, very high. Did you just shock it?

I have been testing my pool water for three years and this is the first time the clorine test shows a dark amber color. Can someone tell me what that means?

Last weekend. I shut down the autofeeder also. The PH has been dropping quick too. I increased it and the next day it was low again. There is not a heavy clorine smell.
It would probably be a good idea if you gave us a compete set of current water testing results from a drops based test kit. Also tell us what type and volume your pool is and exactly what all you have added to your pool. Then somebody here can better advise you.
