Is that a bulldozer in the hole ? It does not look like there is enough room in the hole to get it in/out or to maneuver. Did they drive it in and out ?

Yea, thought it was kind of weird to see a dozer of that size digging the pool out. They may have just used it for leveling out the floor and moving the dirt around.

I'm more used to seiing a back-hoe or a Bobcat. Such as this: http://y0manda.serveftp.net:81/gallery/album04/P7190004

There looks to be a dirt ramp by the pile of dirt on the left.

It is a front end loader and that is the only machine they used. These guys told me that it takes longer to use a bobcat. The 2 guys who ran the machine were amazing to watch how the cut the curves with such big equipment, they made it look easy. That same crew of 3 have been digging pools for 22 years.

You bet it does!!! Look at the size of the loader and the bucket, it'll grab 3 to 1 what a mid sized skid loader will in one scoop.

A good operator will excavate very close to finished dimensions leaving just a minimum amount of trimming necessary in any size machine he's intimate with, you'd be shocked to know how much finesse you can exercise with a large machine.

    See Ya,
    Kelly
