    Default Addusting SAM lights wide-narrow

I noticed that my two sam lights have the word "wide" (molded) on the glass lens. The words are at the 3 or 9 o'clock postion (I forget which). It looks like the lens might be designed to throw off a wide beam or a narrow beam depending on how the lens is installed. There is nothing in the manual about this. It could also just mean that the lens installed from the factory is for a wide beam pattern and turning it does nothing. The word narrow is not on the lens.

Does anyone know? I would prefer to have a wider beam if possible. I don't want to waste money on new gaskets just to find out for myself - so if anyone knows, please reply.

    Thanks.

It's exactly as it appears. Wide for wider light cast. I couldn't find it in the manual either though it shows up in the brochure & this schematic:

You'd just have to take out & rotate the bulb within the ring frame to keep the pilot screw in position. In our 15x30 IG, the light casts well on Standard, but if you're installing it on a side wall or wider pool, you might want to give the Wide setting a shot.
PS- The manual also seems to lack an order of the color programs. Seems like something they'd include, no? Haven't tracked that down yet :-)

    Enjoy.
