    Default ground water?

This may have been addressed before but can anyone tell me about ground water? We have an above ground doughboy pool, with a 7ft. deep end that is 1 year old. We have several "mushy" spots in the shallow end, and now the deep end of the pool. Our contractor installed pool krete but now is saying that if there is ground water, the pool krete will fail no matter if it is redone or not. (He poured the pool krete and sank the liner on the same day, after several days of rain).
How will I be able to tell if it was bad installation or ground water?
    Thanks for any help

It sounds to me like a bad install. I have never had to deal with ground water issues so I could be wrong. Maybe others here that have had propblems related to ground water could help out. I would also talk about this with other locals in your area, see if this has happend to others.

The only ground water issues I remember reading in this board have to do with inground vinyl pools.

Wish I could be of more help, Dennis

Wow, sounds like install issues. How to fix? Don't know what can be done with the pool itself (scary thought, but that poolkrete install may have been defective and how to fix that?) but you may want to look into spot/area drainage and tiling or something similar. There was actually a post on the old forum where someone had to do something like that. Don't know if there is here, but search "drainage" and see if you can find it. Deal with it like you would a basement drainage issue - it can be done.
    Beats driving to the lake!
