    Cheapo timer - nothing you can do about it other than replace - is it new? can you return it for a new one?
    It sounds like it's turning the little knob half way to off, you just flip it over the hump when you touch it.

    I have 2 timers, one for the pool pump and the other for the pool cleaner(sweeper). One works great...
    They are not new...I bought the house 4 years ago and they were already in place. I guess its back to Leslie's to buy something else....
