One of the configurations that my PB recommends is to use an aluminum coping on his fiberglass pools with a cantilevered concrete edge. Is this common practice? He says that he likes to use aluminum coping because his experience tells him that creaming up the concrete to create the nice rounded cantilevered edge causes it to weaken and it tends to flake and crack over time. I'm just wondering if this is common or something that he does to cut corners? I'm new to pools so parden my ignorance. I did see this implementation on another of the pools that he's done and it didn't look bad, but I did notice that the aluminum was pretty hot to the touch. Thoughts on this?????
