    There isn't a real formula, because how much Borax to add depends on your TA, among other things. You want your pH to be in the 7.2-7.8 range. Borax will raise pH without raising alk. Add it slowly through the skimmer, breaking up clumps, give it a couple of hours to mix, then retest and add as needed.

    For some rough info, look at this thread. Some day I'll try to get my spreadsheet formulas simplified so they can be put into BleachCalc (by its author).
