    Default SWG for neighborhood pool??

I operate our neighborhood pool and would love to change to a swg. It is 45,000gal IG. with a kiddie pool on same filtering system.
We average around 40 people more or less a day. Some days that could be 80 total.
Also, we have big slide with 1/2 hp pump pushing water through it.
With that high bather load is it possible to run swg or do I need to stay with tried and true chlorine tabs.

I have learned one thing talking to private pool owners- what you do at your pool in your backyard is much different than what I do to keep our pool operating.

    Thanks for any input-

    Trexok,
Yes you can maintain your "neighborhood" pool with a Salt Chlorine Generator. It's just a matter of making sure you have enough chlorine production to maintain your desired chlorine residual under peak demand conditions.
At AutoPilot, we use the following parameters in order to determine the chlorine demand:
    1) Pool Volume
    2) Maximum bather load in a 24 hr period
    3) Circulation pump run time
    4) Indoor or outdoor location
    5) Water features - what type and how many hours per day are they in operation
    6) Peak water temperature

If you can provide this information, or if you can tell me what you're currently using and what your peak, single day chlorine usage is, I can recommend a system.
From there, you can research NSF approved salt systems, and what your local or state requirements are for commercial chlorination systems.
By the way, what State are you in?

    Thanks Sean
I use tri-chlor 3" tablets in an inline hayward chlorinator. I shock weekly with 5lbs of 48% hth or whatever I buy. I am not sure the amount I use, but am only on my 2nd 50# bucket this season. Our season in Oklahoma is june, july and august.

1.)volume is appx 45k including kiddie pool
2.)Bather load average is 30 per day, high would be 75
3.)Currently pump run time is 16 hrs
    4.)Outdoor- lots of trees
5.)Main pool with slide, kiddie pool with drain and fill tied to main filtering system
    6.)highest temp I have seen is 89f

    Thanks again
