Default False CYA Readings with metal-out or sequestering proucts

Three days ago added Omni's Stain Treat to the pool. The CYA which was at 50-55 read 30.

As nothing else had changed the guess was that this was the cause of the lower CYA reading. Sure enough this was the reason. It now reads 50-55 again.

The reason for this post is that it should discourage persons from adding Cyanuric Acid granules until at least three or four days after the sequestering agent has done it's stuff.

Of couse I am not sure if all sequesting agents have this issue.

    Aloha.

This is very interesting. I added sequasol to my pool upon opening. My cya was not changed. Just some info for you. Let's see if anyone else experienced drop in cya with any other sequesterer.
