Did you store it outside the water for a while? If so it might have dried out and cracked? I dunno. I just got mine. I'm considering just leaving it in the pool unless we're having a party. Is it ok to leave them in all winter in southern california?

    I received my G4 Thursday!
Here's what I've learned so far:
It works real good-if it runs over it, it sucks it up!
    It loves the deep end!
With the hose weight 1 meter from the head, it works well in the deep end but not in the shallow end.
With the hose weight off, it works well in the shallow end, but not in the deep end.
I need more hose to run it from the skimmer in the shallow end and more hose is expensive.
I cannot run both skimmers and the bottom suction with the G4 running from either skimmer.
If I want 100% clean, I have to touch up with the manual vac a little.
40'x28' I/G L-shaped, vinyl liner pool, with an estimated 40,000 gallons of water.
Been using BBB for over a year! Excellent results!

Default I Sold Mine on Ebay

I bought mine from Ebay used it once and sold it back on Ebay. Here are the three reasons I didn't like about the G4:
    1) the constant vibration on the suction side. Will this vibration cause a leak on a pipe fitting?
    2) The warranty notes caution about using it on a vinlyn liner. Over time the print could wear off or tear if liner is old
    3) I have two fiberglass steps that lead down into my pool and the cleaner doesn't clean the steps, so I have to still take out the pole and do the steps manually.

BKNY, Now that you've run it for a few weeks, what are your thoughts on the G4?

I leave mine in 24-7. It doesn't get as much suction as it should, because I need to somehow restrict my skimmer and haven't done it yet. I occasionally brush a little algae from a few shady spots but other then that--pool is always clean!
