Default G4 Barracuda missing the middle of the pool

I recently bought a G4 barracuda. My pool is mostly rectangular shape. My barracuda seems to be missing the middle of the pool. I put the weight towards the end of the first hose because it seemed to spend more time on the sides then the bottom. I then removed a section of hose, to see if that would help. Any other ideas?

I have 2 returns and they are not adjustable.

The "middle" is almost directly below the skimmer, slightly to the right of it.

I took a section of hose off, and moved it from the skimmer to a dedicated suction port right below it, and it's doing a good job now. Only problem now is I'm a little on the low side of suction now--because the skimmer is running. Any ideas on how to restrict the skimmer some? My skimmer is just a male fitting that has a basket that attaches to it.

What about some sort of flat piece of plastic you can cutout to restrict flow through the bottom of the basket? Or perhaps a PVC bushing, reducing the opening size of the male fitting?
40'x28' I/G L-shaped, vinyl liner pool, with an estimated 40,000 gallons of water.
Been using BBB for over a year! Excellent results!
