Not sure what a multi valve is, but on our Cart filter, it does have a waste plug on the bottom of the filter that you unscrew to let the water drain out.
We are in the process of having our pool built and the plumbers have come and installed all of the plumbing and equipment. This is the first time that I have had a CART filter and the first thing I noticed is the lack of a multi valve?
I am now assuming that I cant "dump" water out of my pool if it gets too high? Is that correct?

circlenranch's solution will certainly work.
We also have a valve and extra length of PVC pipe installed between the pump and the filter. The extra length of PVC pipe runs to and along the ground. The valve is normally closed but can be opened to divert all pumped water to the ground.

Our PB put a regular hose faucet right before the inlet to the filter so I can put a hose on it and drain water into our sewer by running the pump and opening the faucet. Some water still flows through the rest of the plumbing so its not a complete divert but it does the job for me. I only drain until the skimmer starts bubbling so I dont run too much air through the pump.
