    Default White Flakes????

    Hello,

I am a new pool owner and have had a great experience with it so far, due to this sites great information. I have a "Starter" Aqua Leisure 2600 gallon blow-up pool. I have noticed white flakes that have settled around the edges of the bottom, and I am not sure what it is. The water is crystal clear, and the walls aren't slick or slimy like with algae. When the kids get in and start a whilpool some of it gets stired up in the water. It just kinda feels like lime flakes. We have well water and have high levels of lime. I am just wondering if this is what it is, and how do I get rid of it? Here are my readings from this morning:

    chlorine: 3.0
    ph: 7.8

Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day!

You will have to give more numbers such as free chlorine, combined chlorine, alkalinity, and calcium. It sounds like your calcium may be high which can cause it to precipitate out in what looks like flakes.
