    Default NEW POOL WATER ....Quick

    Since I wont have my test kit for about 10 days or so I need a little advice

    Free chlorine .42 ppm
    Total chlorine .42 ppm
    Current PH 7.7
    Calcium Hardness 230ppm
    Alkalinity 120 ppm
    Cyanuric Acid 5 ppm
    Copper 0
    Iron 0
    Total Dissolved Solids 220 ppm

    What kind of pool do you have? Regardless, I'd say raise your Cl to 3, add some CYA (target around 20 ppm), and leave the rest alone. If it's plaster/concrete, or have a heater/SWG or other special equipment, that might change things.
