you have to use a clamp just like all your other hose connections get one at the hardware store 1$ or so use a screw driver to tighen but not to tight to break the plastic that should do it!!!
Ok, I had to drain off some water from the pool, due to a couple of days hard rains, and decided to use the backwash hose to direct the water away from the pool wall and into a nearby drainage ditch. Is there a secret to keep the backwash hose attached to the multiport drain stub ??? The thing kept popping off sending water everywhere (especially with pump on high speed), and I've had to struggle to hold it on, Makes it hard to watch the water level on the skimmer and get it where it needs to be.
thanks

I've got a stainless steel hose clamp on mine, but I bet those thick rubber bands they wrap bunches of broccoli up with would work too.
