after reading this forum, i am ready to try supermarket bleach to shock my vinyl liner pool.
my concern is harming the liner.
should i dump the bleach into the deep end, or into a skimmer ?
thanks

You'll get a lot of different opinions on this but the safest bet is to add the bleach when the pump is running and pour it over the return jet to help mix it.
It is also fine to slowly pour it into the skimmer while the pump is running. That is what I have done for years and no problems.
I'm probably starting to sound like a broken record on this, but if you have an inline chlorinator that you're currently using pucks in or have ever used pucks in, you should not add bleach (or any other form of chlorine) through the skimmer. You can end up mixing the different chlorine compounds in that chlorinator and causing an explosion.
