Pool is complete, poolcam in action

Hello everybody,

Our pool project is pretty much done. This is what we got:

- 30'x28' 475 sq ft 89' perimeter freeform gunite pool 3.5'-6' depth
- beach entry 0-12" depth
- deep end swimout
- 12'x2'x2' cascading waterfall from moss stones
- foam jet in beach entry
- 2 crown jets in the deck at the deep end
- 500W light
- Jandy Stealth 1.5hp and 1.0hp pumps (separate pump for waterfall)
- Jandy 60 sq ft DE filter
- Nature 2 in-line chlorinator and filter
- Levolor autofill system
- 4 returns + 1 floor return jet in beach entry
- Jandy AquaPure SWG with Jandy PDA controller
- 670 sq ft of decking with Sundek coating and 200 sq ft of covered patio with Sundek coating
- Tropical Breeze Pebbletec in pool
- Sky Blue Pebletec on beach entry
- Flagstone coping
- 7 umbrella shelves (4 around the deck, 3 in the beach entry)
- 45 ft of 18" rock retaining wall with flowerbeds
- 1000psi misting/fog system on patio and around the deck with 36 0.008" nozzles (remote controlled from Jandy PDA)
- 300W 15 piece low light kit (remote controlled from Jandy PDA)
- Polaris black 380 cleaner with booster pump
- Solar heat pre-plumbing
- drains in decking and flowerbed
- Volleyball and basketball sleeves, volleyball and net, basketball with board.
- 2 sago palms, 1 yucca palm and 1 mexican palm
- Two dozen other plants (day lillies, indian hawthorn, lantanas, wax myrtles ornamental grass etc.)
- 154 ft of 4' steel fence around pool with Magna-Latch system.
- 6' rolled bamboo fence around equipment.
- Panasonic wireless pan/tilt camera with data logging and internet broadcast.
- Patio furniture set, deck furniture set and sunbeds.

Total damage: $50k+

The parts that I did myself oustide my pool builder:
- Ordered the umbrella sleeves and had gunite and decking crew install them
- Ordered the deck jets and foam jet and have plumbers install them
- Ordered Jandy valves and had plumber install them to controll the foam jet and deck jets and do solar stub-out.
- Had plumber install SWG cell.
- Contracted fence guy to install fence around pool and posts around equipment
- Installed complete Jandy Aquapure system instead of cheap dual timer
- Installed JVA to control foam jet and deck jets
- Installed mist/fog system
- Installed low light system around deck
- Ordered plants and had them delivered
- Hired guys to plant the plants
- Fixed busted return line planters cracked open with pick while planting palms
- Repaired all sprinkler lines, added and removed heads as needed
- Installed wireless camera
- Provided ice and water to every crew that I was present at (dig, steel, gunite, deck, electric, fence, plaster, startup)

Todo:
- Order 2.5"-4" Colorado riverrock and mulch for areas around plants
- Order 3 big moss boulders around palms
- Put down black landscaper's tarp around plants
- Install drip irrigation system around plants
- Hire landscaper to spread riverrock, mulch and set up boulders
- Build pool playhouse (6'x8'x4') and cover with rolled bamboo for son to play in
- Order sod for damaged area where crews made access
- Put down sod
- Have patio and deck furniture delivered

That is pretty much it. We signed our contract on 4/29/06 and we had our first swim on 7/14/06.

Overall I am extremely pleased with the results I think my PB did a great job and all their subs were true professionals (well except for the electrician who didn't want to work with me so he ended up working more for less money and made my life more miserable in the process).

My builder was Pulliam Pools. I give them two thumbs up! I thank them for accomodating my anal nature and the fact that they worked with me on every stupid request I had. They were truly great! Granted there were some minor hickups but they had them all resolved to my satisfaction.

Yes, I meant to write umbrella sleeves. I got them from www.poolfittings.com . Very nice people, I ordered 7 gray ones first just for placement then replaced them with 4 bone ones in the deck and 3 white ones in the beach entry later. They have removable sleeves so you can replace the cap and the color at any time. They're $12.95 each +shipping I think.

Nice Pool. I used Pulliam as well and was a very smooth process. Big thumbs up for anyone in the Dallas-Fort Worth area looking for a pool builder.

The one by the pool is a Panasonic BB-HCM371A wireless outdoor camera. It is the most feature rich webcam I have found. Both me and my dad has one. I also have a BL-C30 wireless indoor camera in my 20 month old son's room for the grandparents to see from abroad.

You can get more info about the poolcam here. I bought mine at www.provantage.com for $700. The indoor one is a lot cheaper for around $250.
