I have an IG pool and my ladder has two rubbery bumpers plugged into the ends where it contacts the liner/wall. They're original, so over 15 years old, so I probably need to look into replacing them, but so far so good.
I was just reading another thread where a liner failed from ladder wear. What do you do to protect your liner? What about using one of bath mats with suckers?
Thanks again

A kitchen sink protector with the suction cups was what I was originally going to do - a little firmer than a bathmat. What I ended up doing was a pair of cheap thick-soled flip flops. I stuck the ladder foot into the flip-flop as far as the little strap that goes between the toes and then used zip ties to pull the side straps tightly around the ladder foot. I can take a pic if you want. Works great so far and gives a thicker padding than a bath/sink mat.

I went to Home Depot and a got a piece of 40mil gray vinyl, made for plumbers to put under shower stalls. It's thick, tough, and super-smooth so it doesn't abrade. I put it under my drop-in steps to protect the liner.

My ladder needed protection all around so used 3 bath mats...One in the front and two on the sides. Working wonderful so far.![]()

Thanks for all the great ideas I wonder if I should take the ladder in ask a sales person to measure it for flip flops.

There actually is a vinyl mat that is sold in pool stores for this purpose. I bought one a couple years ago from a local pool store. I think it was about 10 dollars.

I had problems with the bath mat under my ladder getting slimy very quickly. Don't know if it was algae or deterioration of the mat. Anyway, I just bought a mat made for the ladder at NAMCO. We'll see how well it works.
I haven't had a problem with slime or algae with the bath mats. Staying on top of my water with what I've learned from this forum has given me the clearest water possible! And the mats were $2.99 a piece!
