There actually is a vinyl mat that is sold in pool stores for this purpose. I bought one a couple years ago from a local pool store. I think it was about 10 dollars.

I had problems with the bath mat under my ladder getting slimy very quickly. Don't know if it was algae or deterioration of the mat. Anyway, I just bought a mat made for the ladder at NAMCO. We'll see how well it works.
I haven't had a problem with slime or algae with the bath mats. Staying on top of my water with what I've learned from this forum has given me the clearest water possible! And the mats were $2.99 a piece!

Thanks for the ideas. I'm tired of fighting with the "ladder pad" that I bought with the ladder because it never stays under the ladder. It always ends up somewhere else in the pool and I was concerned about the liner near the steps.
Instead of a bath mat I was thinking of possibly using one of the outdoor brush mats as such
I think something like this would be heavy enough to stay in place.
Then again even a water noodle zip tied in place somehow would be perfect. They are cheap enough to experiment with![]()
Wow!!!!!!! After 12 years, our ladder has stood the test of time, nothing under it! I have to admit there are ladder marks in the liner! Just an indenton where it goes, but it isn't a big deal!
Amy,
Personally I think the Flip Flop is the perfect thing to put on the "Foot" of the Ladder !!

She's a perfect size 6......![]()
