Default Pool Aeration with Utility Pump

I have a 1/4 HP submersible utility pump from Simer. Can I use this to aeriate my gunite pool to lower the TA? I was thinking of placing it on the steps as someone had suggested in a previous post.

The pump does say it is not approved for use in a pool, but it seems legal-speak considering its function.

I had considered this, I was going to try it sometime too. I have a small pump like that which will except a garden hose, I was going to put a nozzle on it and spray it into the air and see if it would work. I say go for it.

Those small pumps can put out a lot of spray when hooked to a regular garden nozzle. Especially when they don't have to pump water uphill. Nice thing is you don't have to run the main $$ guzzling pump. Should work fine.

I notice the pump has enough power to create some suction when placed on the steps. Not sure if that is good or not. I think I'll stage it with something small & plastic to move it up a little off the stair.
