Somewhere on the filter there should be a manufacturer and model number. Post that and someone can help. If nothing is visible, a pic will help identifying what you have.

I bought a house with a IG vinyl liner and SCG that is about 2 years old. How do I know what type of filter I have, and what do I need to do to care for it??

Thank you and one more question:
the manual says only clean when psi goes up but I thought I had read folks on here clean every one to 2 months??? advice?
Generally you clean when the psi increases whatever the manufacturer recommends over your starting pressure. For mine it's 10 psi.
I used to have to clean my filter constantly. Now that I'm able to stay ahead of my pool, I've only had to clean it once this season, this past weekend, and if I had been using skimmer socks to catch the cotton wood, I probably wouldn't have had to clean it all year.
