    Question newbie, Affects of low ph.

    I keep seeing that low ph could damage your pool, What are the dangers of low ph in a vynil pool, and how will it damage your pool.

    pH below 7.0 can damage the liner

    what damage would it cause, this is our first pool (came with the house) and since the cover was taken off the ph level was always lower than 6.8, if i remember, the water didn't even change when I added the drops. The filter was an issue from the get go, and we finally desided to get a new filter. Now that the filter is hooked up the levels are climbing. But since the lvels were below 6.8 what kind of damage should I look for?

    Low pH will cause a softening of the liner and stretching and wrinkling is the result.

    Well, we lost that battle before we knew it. the liner has many wrinkles, but they were there when we took the cover off. No easy wasy to fix???
