The contract protects the PC and not me! He takes no responsiblity for damage to utilities, patios, driveways, as well as charges me "actual cost + 10%"
for other things like unexpected obstacles in excavation. Is this reasonable? I have not signed anything, yet. I think the PC should examine my site and point out any possible problems with site, construction, access, or whatever, and include them in the set price. I.E., I want him to agree to a firm price with no surprises for me. Is this unreasonable? What is reasonable? Thanks for comments.
