    Default New Pool; New Kit; New Numbers

    This my first pool and like so many others I have already learned so much from this site. I can't thank you enough.

    In fact, I've learned enough to know to question the pool store clerk when he began telling me "I need 10 pounds of this, 54 pounds of this, etc."

    When I asked him to see the results of the tests he told me the computer takes the numbers and recommends the necessary chemicals. I decided to pass on the computer's recommendations for now, pull out my PS234S kit, post my numbers, and get a second opinion.

    My pool is 35,000 gal vinyl, Pool Pilot SWG, DE Filter, Heat Pump. Water is crystal clear, 82 degrees.

    FC = 0.5
    CC = 0
    TC = 0.5
    ph = 7.0 - 7.2 (I think this is a little low)
    Alk = 40
    Cal = 50
    CYA = 0
    Salt = 3600-3800 ppm (Pool Pilot says 3700 ppm)*

    * My salt was 4400 ppm, which I thought was a little high, so I drained out some water and brought it down. I'm going to repeat this process and try and get it down to 3000-3200 ppm.

    I've been testing everyday for the past week (just trying to stay on top of this until I get the hang of it) and the numbers have been pretty constant.

    Thank you again for all the great info.
