If you wait a few days, you will have a mess. Sunlight degrades chlorine rapidly, and whatever chlorine was in there when you filled it is long gone. Bleach is fine. I use it almost exclusively to chlorinate my inground pool. It is sold at pool stores in a concentrated form, but you will probably need a cup a day or less, so regular unscented laundry bleach is by far the best way to go with your pool. The filter on your pool won't do much to clean up undissolved powder, so avoid using anything that is a powder for chlorination or shocking. That little filter also will struggle to get rid of an algae bloom, so get bleach in there right away.
You need a test kit so you can check the chlorine level daily, and add what's needed.
