Default Pool is going up!!! - I would love your suggestions

We have an Asahi 21x41x52 Oval bracless going up this week/weekend, and the instruction manual is written in bad translated Japanese - (open end is inside pool, take off excess tape after fill the water completely )
We can figure it out, but would love some input from the experts.

So here is our plan of attack:
    1: build Side stuctures
2: dig holes, use patio block to level brace top at ground level
    3: attach tension straps
4: temporaly put top seat on to check for level
5: pile sand inside pool area
6: put wall and liner inside pool area
7: lay rails - put a patio block under each non-braced joint - I think I need to dig holes for these as well
    8: Install wall
9: place cove (we do have the preformed foam ones)
    10: level sand
    11: Install skimmer
    12: Install liner
13: Install top rail and upper joint
    14: Assemble verticals
    15: Assemble top seats
    16: Install seat covers
    17: fill pool
    18: get drunk

Any suggestions or insider tips to make this go smoothly??

    THANKS!!!!

Did you do step 18 before you wrote that list ? I think a couple of things are slightly out of order.

Steps 1-4 - I guess you're putting up the straight sides, my recommendation is to:
    1. Level entire site using transum or water level
    2. Lay out where patio blocks for side structures will be, lay those level with ground (dig holes, I guess)
    3. Build side structure as instructed.
    4. Use water level or transum to check for level.
    5. Place sand, wall, liner, some planks inside pool
    6. Set bottom track - I wouldn't bother with Patio blocks since anything non braced carries absolutely no weight - you can do whatever you want though.
    7. Unroll wall using planks to stand and move it on, install uprights.
    8. Level sand
    9. Install coves
    10. Install liner - however it needs to be installed - 3 types, 3 ways.
    11. Hook up shopvac to skimmer hole with a cardboard cover also tape off return hole.
    12. Get liner set so it hangs perfectly straight up/down, no skew, make sure wall/floor seam sits at right spot all the way around.
    13. With Vac on start filling. - turn vac off once you're at 1' or so.
    14. While filling, install top rail/seat/cover - whatever you want to call it.
    15. Once water is a few inches from return and skimmer, cut those in (make about 1/16th smaller than metal cutout).
    16. Hook up skimmer/return and plumbing

He he he .... Nope that's the order the Japanlish recomended. Which is why I checked with you all.

The ground was leveled last weekend, the best $200 I ever spent. I was questionable on the patio blocks at the joints too. Glad to hear that you don't think they are needed either.

The sand is coming tomorrow, and I am trying to get all of the pre-sand steps done, so I don't have to move sand more than necessary

Hi Trimom, I get called out to finish jobs when step 18 was started way to soon way to often. I find pool parts and beer cans all over the yard.

I just started a thread that might be of some help.

Depending on where you live, I WOULD in fact use patio block on the curved sides of an oval pool. We did at the suggestion of the folks here and I believe it was the smart way to go. One would think that the longer the pool sides are, the better prepared support system you would want - pressure is different on the long sides than the curved, but good support all around is peace of mind. Round pools are much different as far as pressure and structure. Ours is buttress free as well.
    Beats driving to the lake!
