    Scorecard:

    7/28/06 - 1:38pm.

    Water is crystal clear.

    Stats:

    FC: 2-3
    PH: 7.0

Added 8(+-) quarts of bleach to the pool to bring it to shock level based on Ben's best guess. I expect to keep adding Chlorine due to the AA treatment earlier. I will get it to shock and maintain overnight.

    Scorecard:

    7/28/06 - 2:55pm

    Water is still crystal clear.

    FC - 15 (Shock level)
    PH - 6.8

Added about 12oz of Borax to get this up to 7.2

So far......So good BUT: It is beginning to Rain....I can't win...The pool gods hate me. It must be pay-back for all the "urinating in the pool" I did when I was a kid.

You have gotten some good advice in this thread and appear to be well on your way to keeping it clear for good. This thread is getting pretty long - up to 53 posts I believe. Since I think you have probably gotten the info you need, I'm going to go ahead and lock this one as it is getting a little unmanageable. Congrats on the good work!

    PS - Raining here too!

    OK.

I thought there might be some benifet to see if the Cloudy Problem re-occurs before closing it out.

Some of the last posts were to drain and begin again.

    Your call!

    scorecard

    7/29/06 - 9:00am.

    FC- 15
    PH- 7.2

Woke up this morning and the water had turned a little "Metally greenish" (yellow/brown against White and Blue vinyl).

Chlorine held overnight so I am assuming that I do not have an algea bloom and this is due to the metals in my water.

I added about 1lb of AA. This should bring my Chlorine down but I haven't checked yet.

As of 12pm - the water is now crystal clear.

    Q. Should I bring the water back to shock level or can I get it to swim range about 2pm (due to the metals).

    Any and all thoughts welcome.

    scorecard:

    7/29/06 - 4:30pm.

FC: dropped drastically to about 1ppm
PH: also dropped to about 6.8.

I've added about 2qts of Bleach - Using the guide it looks like 1 gal of 6% bleach should bring 10,000 gal up 5ppm, will wait a little while then add 1lb of Borax.

Will try to get my Chlorine level up to somewhere between 2 -3.

Still not sure if I should bring it to shock?
