    Default Polyquat price

I have been buying this algaecide for the past couple of years, the price being around $15/quart. I stopped by Lowe's yesterday and their price was over $27/quart. Just wondering if this is a temporary price spike due to a manufacturing bottleneck or if it is a long term price increase. I guess it could have something to do with the price of oil.....

I also used to buy mine at Lowes. I saw some the other day at Home Depot for $17. Maybe I should stock up while it's cheap!

Sorry guys. I think that the orginal Lowe's had the wrong price marked on the shelf. I checked another Lowe's store, and the price was still $14.97; although they didn't have any on the shelf. The >$27 price was for their copper-based algaecide. Online, the price of a quart is $20 to $22.

That's a great price -- but I see it has a clarifier -- is this the same as Poly 60 or does this have othe added stuff. What is the shipping costs?

    Thanks

    Default PoolTrine MSDS

I've uploaded the MSDS for the Pooltrine product. I had the same questions before purchasing. They don't charge for shipping, however they charge a handling fee based upon the total purchase price. I paid 8.99 for 6 quarts delivered. That comes out to a net cost of 9.22 per quart delivered and I don't have to fight traffic to get it...

Polyquat *is* a clarifier, though that aspect often goes unmentioned. At one time (over 10 years ago) you could buy polyquat from the manufacturer (Buckman Labs) under a different name as a clarifier. They stopped that, when they found that some folks had caught on, and were buying the cheaper, but identical, version and using it to fill algaecide bottles.

Cannot believe this. I was in their store this evening in NJ and they have the 1/2 gal of Algae Control for $31.99 "after discount". I asked about the pooltrine I saw on the web site and they said it must be a mistake.

    What gives?
