    Default Help needed

    Hello all

I have a 20 x 40 inground pool, its about 15 year old and last year i had my liner replaced with a 28 mil liner
What a nightmare trying to get these guys to come back to finish, and always sent someone different.
Anyway once they ripped out the old liner they said i needed a new floor extra money of course(to me the floor looked good nice and smooth made of sand and portland except for some small holes and dents) by the way i video taped it just in case.
Ok they redid the floor with a thin coat of vermiculite and the new liner went in,water was in and cleaned.then went in for a swim and found
    many rocks under the liner
And when i turned on the light in the pool i found many surprises, really bad troweling job, many large foot prints, holes.

I also noticed that now only the deep end of the pool and the slope lights up,the shallow end floor is not lit up but the shallow end walls and stairs is
lit up,there is light there but not the floor,i tried ajusting the lens but no luck.(The whole pool lit up before the new liner was replaced)

I also noticed in the shallow end of the pool where the walls and floors meet the liner does not touch the floor, meaning
if you put your feet between the corner of the floors and walls and push down it feels like a balloon so a am afraid of vacuming and puncturing it

I called them up and they said this is normal

After many calls i made they said they will put in another liner and fix all of the problems
so they came once the swiming season was over and put in another new liner.

Ok opened the pool about one month ago and flloor is a little better and no footprints, holes or rocks,
but the corner of the floors and walls are still the same and now theres a small tear on the seam by the bead that goes into the track.

And the Shallow end floor still does'nt light up but the shallow end walls and stairs do(Is it possible alternations to the floor would cause this?)

The liner that came in the box,had the measurements of walls 38 inches and the deep end 7 feet 8 inches
My my pool measures walls are 40" and the deep end measures 8 feet which i just measured, also i had 2 other estimates which
had also measured 40 inches walls and 8 feet deep(It seems that the liner that they put in is too small for my pool, can a 28 mil liner strech that much?)

Any input would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you
    Tony

    Hey, Tony...
I think I know those guys...When my original liner split after 10 days, despite being nicely installed, the liner company sent a local crew to install the new liner. They griped that I shouldn't use sand but vermiculite, didn't know to WET the sand, and to use 2x2 sheets of 1/2" ply to stand on. I got foot prints, I got wrinkles a Shar-Pei would envy, but I have no leaks. So I'm torn: Do I want the liner to fail so I can get one properly installed that doesn't look ugly, or do I want to get EVERY season out of it I can.

Tony: They don't know how to install a liner. Your common sense is right.

    Thanks CarlD

Today they sent another guy to check out the problems and said that they will insall another new liner at the end of the summer,i told them about the liner being too small and they said it that it should not be a problem.

The walls of the pool are 40 inchs and the liner is 38 inches
The deep end of the pool is 8 feet and the liner measures 7 feet and 8 inches

Can a liner strech that much ?

    Thank you
    Tony
