My pool is almost done and I'll be installing my Autopilot Dig-48 in a week or so. I was wondering if it is ok to install the Autopilot outside exposed to the weather or must it be installed in some kind of enclosure? I'm talking about the control panel...
Thanks,
Russell

I just figure it has to be easier on the unit than staying outside in the freezing cold.Maybe one day I will get lazy and leave it out there.
Mine is outdoors but out of direct sunlight/rain.
I mounted to the siding on my house next to my circuit breaker for the pool equipment where my old Intermatic timer was. I did use thick felt washers (3/4") between the unit and the vinyl siding to reduce any potential fan vibration from transfering to the interior of the house and to leave an air gap to help with cooling. The unit can get pretty hot, and the South Carolina temps don't help. So far though, no issues with overheating or noise.
