I stand in direct sun with the tube at my waist and move it back and forth gently until I'm sure the dot is gone.
WhatEVER you do, be consistent and do it that way every time.
The instructions for the CYA test say to do it in outdoor light. Does that mean standing in direct sunlight or not. The reason I ask is that if I'm standing in a lightly shaded area the dot disappears at around 55, If I'm in the direct sun the dot disappears at around 35-40.
Thanx for any advice.....

I stand outdoors in the shade (indirect sunlight)....and I have double checked my readings againt a LaMotte Waterlink Express colorimeter and am within 10 ppm or less of the readings the colorimeter gets.
(The debate continues!Carl, do you still wear the tinfoil hat? I do!)

Thanx, I've been standing in shade also. guess I will continue to do so.
Consistency is important. Tinfoil hat is optional.
