Hi, Kelly,
I doubt the "easy....whatever" will have any affect at all on your pH and Alk. It's most likely Cal Hypo (with a high pH) but not nearly enough to affect your pool.
The short answer is Yes...Alk and pH tend to follow one another.
Hi all. I have a vinyl liner pool 20x40 aprox 23,000 gallons according to my calculations
FC=2
CC=1.5
TC=3.5
PH=7.5
ALK=200
CAL=190
CYA=80
I know my alk is high and I have combined chlorine that I need to take care of. I am shocking the pool tonite with approx 6 lbs of "easy shock and swim" from bioguard. I am curious as to the affects of shocking the pool and how ph and alkalinity readings will be effected. Also if alkalinity goes up does ph follow it and like wise if it goes down, does ph go down? Thanks.
