Question Can I bypass filter just to get the water circulating

Just wondering, would it be ok to just run the pump on the pool without the filter to just circulate the water?

My pump/filter has that option on there so I assume that it is OK to do so. I'm not sure why you would want to bypass the filter?
    Beats driving to the lake!

need to bypass filter cause it is in bad shape, the valve clamp is broken. I need to make sure that it is ok, to try to circulate the water with bb w/o filter to try to get the levels up. Where is the sticky???

My filter does not have a recirculate setting, and it's broken anyway. Can I just connect the pump to the pool W/O the filter???

I think the point made by the replies and the sticky is that it IS ok to simply recirc the water.
IMHO, it would be better than nothing, but I could be wrong!
