Cool Need Help with a hose

Every time we go to vacuum to waste, the hose coming out of the skimmer basket nearly collapses down right in front of the pump. It still is sucking water in the hose but this tends to create a lot of air in the pot and drops the pressure down to one or two pounds.

Any ideas what causes this and what is the cure? It still works and the vacuum picks up quiet nicely, but it does concern me every time I go to vacuum. Yes the vacuum hose has been primed BEFORE starting to vacuum.

Once you get finished vacuuming and turn the pump to rinse and then back to filter the air finally gets sucked out of the pot and things return to normal.

It does this even when you vacuum to filter as well.

Sounds like your flow rate gets restricted by the vacuum and the weakest link is your skimmer hose, thus it caves. Replace your skimmer hose with some tigerflex, that will cure your problem, likely the skimmer hose is a really cheap thin flexi hose not able to withstand the suction created.
